Starting January 22nd, the Science and Arts Collective of Northeastern University will be hosting a series of working meetings.
SACNU Goals:
To promote interaction, communication and collaboration across scientific and creative disciplines at Northeastern University
The emphasis of SACNU is to create a community and a platform for:
- Learning and using tools to ensure that technical work more accessible (blogs, pop-talks, open source tools).
- Providing an extra push to document progress that does not seem important, but really helps in the long run (commenting code, describing experiments, making figures, organizing data, incorporating best-practices in workflow)
- Interacting with graduate students from other disciplines to share experiences and come up with unlikely collaborations, particularly between the arts and the sciences
- Developing awareness regarding societal issues from the perspective of fellow students who actually experience it (gender, race and culture related)
Meetings will run every Friday evening from 6:30-7:30 PM. For the most up-to-date information on events, check out the DSG event page or the SACNU blog.
