The DSG offers a wide range of services and support. In many cases, we can provide support on how to get started on your own. Contact us to learn more about what the DSG and the library have to offer.
LONG-TERM, ARCHIVAL STORAGE IN THE DRS
The Digital Repository Service (DRS) is a digital archive developed and supported by the Northeastern University Library. The DRS collects, manages, preserves, and shares digital materials. It contains scholarly, administrative, and archival records created by or acquired by the Northeastern University community.
GIS AND DATA VISUALIZATION
The Northeastern University Library has in-house expertise on integrating data visualization and mapping into your teaching and research. Free consultations are available for all Northeastern students, faculty, and staff. Our specialists also provide introductory and custom workshops on relevant topics throughout the year.
DIGTIAL PUBLISHING AND DISSEMINATION
CERES Exhibit Toolkit
The DSG has developed an expansive toolkit to publish project materials stored in the DRS. CERES Exhibit Toolkit allows projects and partners to create a customized WordPress site using galleries, exhibits, playlists, and other tools.
The DSG offers a growing number of services for producing and disseminating research output. Currently we support Open Journal Systems (OJS), a web-based platform for journal publishing, and Omeka, a tool for building digital projects and exhibits.
TEI AND XML MARKUP
The DSG has world-class expertise in TEI and XML markup. Through projects and services, the DSG gives special emphasis to the TEI in supporting XML publishing.
Members of the DSG have experience with writing regional and national grant applications, including scoping grant proposals, creating grant budgets, developing data management plans, and writing mid-term and final grant reports. Please contact us at least three months in advance to discuss any grant proposal that involves DSG staff or resources.
DATA MANAGEMENT PLANNING
Employing good data management practices and recording those practices in a data management plan are essential for any digital project. The DSG can provide help to projects looking to learn more about data management principles, practices and plans.
