On October 10th, members of Northeastern’s digital scholarship community gathered in Snell Library’s Digital Scholarship Commons for the Fall 2023 Digital Scholarship Group (DSG) and NULab welcoming event. The gathering invited scholars to chat over snacks and refreshments to discuss their digital work, their experiences over the semester, and the direction of the DSG and NULab for the remainder of 2023 and beyond.
The event opened with words of welcome from NULab Co-Directors KJ Rawson and Moira Zellner, and they emphasized that the goal of this event was to create conversations between various digital scholars within the Northeastern community. The event also served as an opportunity to discuss the exciting changes coming to the DSG in 2024—keep an eye out the DSG blog for future updates!
This year’s event included representation from several disciplines, including students, faculty, and staff from Computer Science, English, History, and Political Science backgrounds. The broad representation of disciplines at the event emphasizes the depth of work that can be accomplished through digital studies and helps to establish a network of scholars who are dedicated to expanding their professional relationships in the field.
We are excited about the connections made at this semester’s event, and we hope that if you could not join us this time, we will see you at our next gathering!
