This week at DH Open Office Hours, we had the pleasure of Hosting Jim McGrath, a postdoctoral fellow in Public Digital Humanities at the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage at Brown University. He also was the former DSG Coordinator, and helped lead the Our Marathon project.
We talked about different tools for gathering and curating data from twitter, like TAGS. There was also a good amount of talk about how to turn that data into visualizations – a great time to announce that Northeastern Library has hired an Information and Data Visualization specialist! Some visualization tools included TAGSexplorer.
Jim also let us under the hood on the start of a new project he’s working on that deals with image macros, and the information gathering process he’s using for that.
