Amanda participated in a panel discussion at New England Archivists and Archivists Round Table Joint Annual Conference at from March 22-24 at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. This year’s theme was “Rise Up” and explored archival advocacy, both professionally and personally, and how this effects social justice efforts, community engagement, economic challenges, activist tactics, and career sustainability.
The panel Amanda participated in was Acknowledging the Gap: Diversifying Our Collections, Services, and Workforce and took place on Saturday from 10:30-12. The panel focused on diversity and inclusion in collection policies, partnerships between institutions and the communities whose collections they hold, and how to create more diverse and inclusive workforce within the archival community.
